Pebble, the leading automation, content management and integrated channel specialist, is building on a successful CABSAT 2026, with major customer projects, new wins and strong engagement with broadcasters and partners underlining the importance of the Middle East to its business.
CABSAT brought together customers, partners and prospects from across the region, providing an opportunity for Pebble to strengthen existing relationships and discuss the next stages in broadcasters’ technology plans. Conversations ranged from new playout requirements and closer MAM integration to UHD/HDR, SCTE workflows and emerging technologies.
“The level of activity at CABSAT was extremely encouraging,” said Samir Isbaih, VP Sales Middle East and APAC at Pebble. “We had productive conversations with long-standing customers as well as new contacts, and there was a clear appetite to talk about both immediate projects and what comes next. The Middle East continues to be a very important region for Pebble, with broadcasters investing in sophisticated playout environments and looking closely at how those systems need to develop.”
That activity is reflected in a number of significant Pebble projects across the region.
In Saudi Arabia, Pebble has extended its long-standing relationship with Asharq, consolidating the broadcaster’s playout operations in the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh. The facility accommodates Bloomberg Asharq News, Asharq Discovery, Asharq Documentary and the recently launched Asharq Culture Channel within an on-premises Pebble environment.
The platform has also been extended to support Thmanyah channels 1-3, following the company’s acquisition of the rights to Saudi Premier League football. The three sports services use Pebble Automation and Integrated Channel to support the demands of live events.
New projects include Al Mansour Channel in Iraq, which has selected Pebble for a redundant playout system combining Automation and Integrated Channel with control of third-party devices.
Dubai Media Incorporated is also moving to Pebble’s latest-generation platform as part of a major 12-channel, multi-site project spanning main, backup and disaster recovery environments. The system will manage content, ingest, file and tape workflows, content transfers, nearline and archive storage, together with extensive third-party device control.
The DMI project continues a relationship with Pebble spanning more than 15 years and reflects a wider theme from CABSAT: broadcasters are looking to develop established operations without being restricted in their choice of technology or workflow.
Pebble also used the event to continue discussions with integration partners around making connections between automation and wider media ecosystems simpler. This included approaches to lower-cost integration between Pebble Automation and third-party MAM platforms, alongside customer interest in UHD/HDR playout and more advanced SCTE workflows.
“Our customers are not all following the same technology path, and we do not expect them to,” added Isbaih. “What they need is a reliable playout foundation that can work with the systems they already have and accommodate new technologies as they are introduced. The conversations we had at CABSAT reinforced how important that flexibility remains.”
