IABM Launches Brand New Online AI Course for Members

IABM has launched a brand-new online AI course designed for business managers, production teams and technology providers across the media and technology industry. The new, expertly curated AI course provides an understanding of AI key concepts, types, applications, implementation, and ethical considerations. It defines AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Deep Learning, AI Models, Foundation Models, and neural networks, and explains the differences between rule-based systems and AI, and the evolution of AI from the 1950s to present.

It further discusses the importance of data quality, training methods and the potential impact of AI on jobs and society. It also provides guidelines for integrating AI into businesses and highlights the need for AI councils and security policies. The course concludes with ongoing AI training, accuracy, legal aspects, and future trends.

“The rapid evolution of AI presents both incredible opportunities and significant complexities for our industry. At IABM, our commitment is to empower our members to not just navigate this landscape, but to lead it. This new AI course is a direct investment in their future success, providing the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in this transformative era,” said Saleha Williams, CEO at IABM.

Produced by IABM member Damon Neale, CEO of Metadat-AI, the course draws on Neale’s professional background and extensive practical experience in AI. The course is available free of charge to all IABM members; sign up here. The course is also available for purchase for non-members.

“This new AI course is the result of many months of research across all the applications of AI in Media & Entertainment,” said Stuart Ray, IABM Head of Skills and Development. “AI is already extensively used for tasks like automation, content tagging, video editing and business intelligence – AI-generated songs, animation automation, podcasts, voice-overs, literature and video generation are just some examples. It is now critical for everyone involved in this industry to understand the basics and scope of AI and how it can be a real game-changer when harnessed effectively; our new AI course will give them the tools they need to dive in.”

In addition to the new AI course, IABM has also negotiated a 10% discount for members on all FMC (Future Media Concepts) AI courses, opening more learning opportunities on this key area of advancement in the industry. Established in 1994, FMC is a leading provider of media training and education for creative professionals engaged in the production, editing, design and delivery of digital content.
