Big Blue Marble at ANGA COM: TV as a Service in the spotlight

When the broadband and media industry gathers at ANGA COM in Cologne from May 19 to 21, Big Blue Marble will be at the forefront. The international broadcast and streaming expert will highlight its scalable TV as a Service platform at stand 7 in hall B30. This platform allows cable and fiber network operators in Germany to implement modern TV and entertainment offerings quickly, cost-effectively, and with high availability, all in broadcast quality.

“With our presence at ANGA COM, we are opening the next chapter of our market expansion in Germany,” says Michael Wagenhofer, CEO of Big Blue Marble. “Following the successful launch of TV as a Service at the beginning of the year, Cologne is the logical next step for us to strengthen our connections with cable and fiber network operators and demonstrate how we are bringing streaming at broadcast quality to the German market.”

TV as a Service – all‑in‑one platform for a TV experience in your own brand universe

Big Blue Marble’s TV as a Service platform is offered as a fully managed service, encompassing all essential components for a modern TV offering. This includes signal provisioning, encoding, content rights management, an app ecosystem, set‑top boxes, OTT delivery, analytics, and billing. By eliminating high initial investment costs, this platform operates on a transparent subscription model, making it particularly appealing for regional and medium‑sized network operators that prefer not to develop their own platform.

The user interface can be completely tailored to match the corporate design of the respective network operator. On Android TV-based set-top boxes featuring a custom launcher and extensive support for large-screen platforms, end users benefit from a consistent, intuitive, and customizable television experience. This includes access to live TV, on-demand content, media libraries, and seamless integration of streaming applications from major international providers such as Netflix and Disney.

Streaming in broadcast quality

In addition to TV as a Service, Big Blue Marble will also showcase its custom streaming platforms and essential tools for processing and distributing streaming content. These tools include high-performance content delivery infrastructures, multi-DRM systems, tokenization, forensic watermarking, and various security mechanisms designed to ensure reliable protection of premium content while maintaining broadcast quality. By offering these solutions, Big Blue Marble aims to serve not only traditional network operators but also broadcasters, content platforms, sports associations, and cultural institutions seeking to deliver their video offerings to an expanding streaming audience in a scalable and secure manner.

On May 19 at 12:30 p.m. on the Innovation Stage, Barbara Antensteiner‑Dietl, Sales Manager, and Christoph Greiner, Head of Product Management at Big Blue Marble, will showcase the potential of TV as a Service. Their presentation, titled “Growth with TV as a Service through User‑Centric Innovations and Premium Content Bundles,” will explore how network operators can unlock growth opportunities and distinguish themselves from competitors by offering a modern TV solution that is closely aligned with customer needs and features appealing content.
