Profuz Digital presents intelligent AI workflow orchestration and advanced search capabilities at IBC2026

  • August 27, 2026

Profuz Digital IBC Stand 8.A88 from 11 – 14 September 2026 – RAI, Amsterdam

European developer Profuz Digital makes a mark by launching a powerful upgrade to its Profuz LAPIS digital media management platform this IBC in Amsterdam at Stand 8.A88. The latest version of LAPIS features AI-assisted search across all types of data, including improved on-the-fly reporting, lifecycle-aware archiving, and enriched multi-source analysis that combines speech recognition, face detection and content fingerprinting. Together with new AI transcription integrations in Profuz Digital’s SubtitleNEXT platform, these advancements make a significant leap in localisation efficiency and broadcast workflow intelligence.

Profuz LAPIS strategizes entire workflows within an organisation by coordinating and distributing tasks across multiple AI processing engines into a unified workflow, where data is processed in layers enriched at each stage. LAPIS brings cumulative benefits combining data from multiple sources including speech recognition paired with face detection in order to create richer and more accurate insights.

For IBC, LAPIS has been further upgraded with intelligent AI-assisted search and reporting in all fields including the archiving module restoration lifecycles management, with enhancements in metadata handling, the video player and subtitle generation.

Other new features and capabilities in LAPIS showcased this IBC include S3 Glacier integration, file duplication checking, live subtitles stream generation, enhanced media player with variable speed rewind and fast-forward, integration with ElevenLabs API, an external processing server with automatic content fingerprinting, the embedded metadata handling of files, image extraction from hi-res video, multilingual rich text (formatted text) fields, media source selection for the media player and markers customisation through the UI.

Organisations such as France Galop, Canal+ France, Council of Europe, Bulgarian National Radio and others have invested in Profuz LAPIS’ ability to deliver a revolutionary solution for effective asset management. LAPIS organises media assets like news, images, audios, movies, documentaries, series, clips, and promotions for categorisation, advanced searching, filtering, meta data tagging and sorting, by centralising all the data securely with reliable efficiency in one system.

Also on show is the latest version of SubtitleNEXT –  an affordable timed-text software platform that is intuitive and manages subtitles and audio description. Loaded with an extensive host of stunning new features, SubtitleNEXT now includes IMSCR import and export support for IMS common script formats which enables smoother integration with modern localisation and production workflows. HiDPI support provides enhanced UI scaling and rendering for high-resolution displays, providing a sharper and more consistent user experience across modern workstations.

There is also a new Movie File Burn Expert Plugin for advanced subtitle burn‑in into videos, now enhanced with video file conversion to multiple formats and resolutions, along with further improved Batch Processing that adds burn‑in support to batch operations as well as new duplicate and delete functions for more efficient batch management.

The advanced Batch Subtitle Conversion feature has broadened the available options for selecting timecode conversion methods and configurable timecode offset handling during batch subtitle conversion. Configurable and reorderable columns for greater control over workspace customisation has been added, allowing users to optimise layouts based on project requirements.

Another significant upgrade for broadcasters is SubtitleNEXT’s support for extended Teletext Validation with wider teletext checks with related tools that help to ensure compliance with broadcast delivery specifications. The Speaker Roles capability helps assign and manage speaker roles, improving the organisation of subtitles and accessibility workflows.

SubtitleNEXT offers users Extended AI Transcription Integration with added support for additional speech-to-text engines such as AssemblyAI, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, and Whisper. These integrations provide greater flexibility when selecting transcription services based on language coverage, accuracy, turnaround time, and deployment requirements.

With a well-established track record of success, SubtitleNEXT is used by the likes of ARTE Television, Proximus Media House, Euro Media Group (EMG), Polsat, Bulgarian National Television, IT Pros Italy, Digitalmeister, Leinhäuser Language Services,  University of Warsaw, Ghent and KU Leuven University, and others.

“Broadcasters benefit from cost-effective AI processing integration with intelligent task-management distribution. Modular designs combined with creative tools arm subtitling professionals to be the best they can be.  We look forward to demonstrating the latest features at IBC.” CTO and developer at Profuz Digital Kamen Ferdinandov comments.

Ivanka Vassileva, CEO of Profuz Digital notes, “Profuz LAPIS and SubtitleNEXT are making an impact and are trusted long-term and forward-thinking investments for organisations of all sizes.
