Willow Sports, Willow’s free ad-supported streaming channel, and sports technology company ChampHunt have introduced weekly team power rankings for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), using AI to assess team performance throughout the tournament. The rankings bring a format widely used in U.S. sports coverage to cricket, providing a data-driven measure of current team form beyond the official standings.
Updated every Monday through the 2026 CPL season, the Willow Sports and Champhunt CPL Team Power Rankings use a proprietary model that weighs nine performance measures from approved match and team-performance data. The rankings provide fans with a weekly snapshot of which CPL teams are playing the best cricket, why they are moving up or down, and where the model diverges from the official table.
This week’s rankings place the Guyana Amazon Warriors at No. 1, followed by the Barbados Tridents, Trinbago Knight Riders, the and the Saint Lucia Kings. The complete rankings and analysis are available on Willow’s Instagram.
“Power rankings have become part of the weekly conversation around virtually every major American sport, but cricket has never had an equivalent,” said Todd Myers, Chief Operating Officer of Willow TV. “We saw an opportunity to take something sports fans already understand and apply it to cricket in a completely new way. Whether you have followed the game your entire life or are watching your first match, the rankings give you a quick snapshot of which teams are performing well, what to watch for and, hopefully, something to debate with other fans.”

The data gives fans a fresh way to look at which teams are playing the best cricket each week and plenty to discuss when the rankings challenge conventional wisdom.”
Willow Sports will share new rankings and analysis each Monday across its digital and social channels, including Instagram, X and Facebook. The rankings will also be featured in Willow TV coverage throughout the season.
Willow Sport’s CPL Power Rankings are presented by Visit Barbados throughout the 2026 Caribbean Premier League season. The initiative is expected to expand to additional T20 competitions, including women’s cricket, subject to future programming and partnership plans.
