Vivaro Supports Record World Cup Audiences with Appear’s X20 Platform

Modular HEVC and JPEG XS workflows enabled resilient, ultra-low-latency delivery for leading linear and digital media platforms across all 104 matches

Appear ASA (OSE: APR), a global leader in live production technology, today announced that Vivaro successfully deployed Appear’s X20 Platform to deliver resilient live video workflows during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Supporting both linear television and large-scale digital streaming, the deployment enabled Vivaro to meet different bandwidth, latency and quality requirements through one modular, high-capacity platform designed for mission-critical live event contribution.

Vivaro supported broadcasters and sports streaming platforms in Canada, U.S.A., Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador and Argentina across all 104 matches.

Vivaro deployed Appear’s X20 Platform to process and transport feeds using High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and JPEG XS, as well as to distribute linear feeds for its customers over SRT. HEVC provided bandwidth-efficient delivery, while JPEG XS supported high-quality contribution at sub-frame latency. Supporting both codecs within the same modular platform allowed Vivaro to match bandwidth, latency, quality and operational needs to each customer without introducing separate technology stacks or additional workflow complexity.

“We supported many customers with very different delivery requirements, from national linear television to digital audiences in HD and 4K, that could rise by millions around a single match,” said Daniel González, CEO of Vivaro. “For an event of this scale, live feeds simply cannot fail. Appear’s X20 gave our teams the capacity, resilience and low-latency performance to manage both workflows through a single platform, maintaining consistent quality from the opening match to the final.”

The X20 Platform’s modular architecture enabled Vivaro to consolidate high-capacity processing and transport within a compact operational footprint. This simplified control and service management while giving Vivaro the flexibility to configure each workflow around the needs of the individual customer.

The deployment also provides Vivaro with reusable infrastructure for upcoming premium sports productions. Rather than building a technology stack around a single tournament, Vivaro can adapt and repurpose the X20 Platform as customer requirements, production formats and delivery models evolve.

“Vivaro’s delivery for leading media platforms demonstrates the value of infrastructure that adapts to the customer rather than forcing every service into the same technical model,” said Luis Perez, Sales Director LATAM at Appear. “With bandwidth-efficient HEVC and ultra-low-latency JPEG XS in one modular X20 Platform, Vivaro could select the right performance model for each workflow while maintaining resilient operations at scale. When every frame matters, that combination of flexibility and dependable performance is critical.”

The deployment builds on Appear and Vivaro’s work together across the World and gives Vivaro a consistent operational platform for future live productions.
