Shotoku Broadcast Systems Wins 2026 NAB Show Product of the Year Award

LAS VEGAS – May 4, 2026 — Shotoku Broadcast Systems announced today that its Swoop range of robotic cranes has been named a winner in the Camera Support, Control and Accessories category at the 2026 NAB Show Product of the Year Awards. This official awards program recognizes some of the most significant and promising new products and technologies showcased by exhibitors at NAB Show.

Designed to replace traditional manually operated cranes and jibs, Swoop eliminates the need for dedicated operators while enabling seamless integration into existing robotic camera systems.  The result is a more efficient, cost-effective approach to achieving dynamic camera movement in modern production environments.

Swoop delivers the creative flexibility, control, and safety in one elegantly engineered system. Available in two sizes with robotic and manual base options, the system is adaptable to a wide range of production requirements and budgets. The crane integrates seamlessly with Shotoku’s TR-XT advanced control system for precise, repeatable movement and reliable operation.

Designed from the ground up with safety in mind, Swoop features multiple intelligent proximity sensors that create a dynamic protective “bubble” that detects obstacles, stops all movement, and prevents collisions.

According to James Eddershaw, Shotoku managing director, “Robotic broadcast camera systems are not new, but until now achieving a Jib-style movement typically required large and expensive manually operated cranes. Swoop addresses this gap with a cost-efficient alternative that seamlessly integrates into multi-camera, single operator, and highly automated environments. We’re honored that NAB recognized the value Swoop brings to live tv productions with a Product of the Year award in the Camera Support category.”

NAB Show Product of the Year award winners were selected by a panel of industry experts in 16 categories and announced during a live awards ceremony at NAB Show on April 22. To be eligible for an award, nominated products had to come from companies exhibiting at the 2026 NAB Show and be delivered within the 2026 calendar year.

“NAB is honored to recognize some of the industry’s most innovative products that are shaping the future of content creation, distribution and monetization,” said Eric Trabb, senior vice president, Strategic Alliances & Partnerships at NAB. “Congratulations to Shotoku on earning the 2026 NAB Show Product of the Year Award for Swoop — a cutting-edge solution enhancing a critical stage of the content lifecycle and helping storytellers succeed in today’s dynamic media landscape.”
