Planetcast Introduces Expanded Cloud-First Infrastructure, Scaling Beyond 450 Channels

Planetcast today unveiled the next stage of its hybrid broadcast transformation strategy at NAB Show 2026, highlighting enhancements to its cloud-first infrastructure and expanded capabilities across its integrated platform portfolio.

The company currently supports more than 450 channels globally, reaching 1.3 billion viewers across 50+ leading media brands, reflecting its growing role in powering large-scale, live and multi-platform media operations worldwide.

Building on its integrated portfolio of in-house platforms, including MediaHQ, Contido, CloudX, ReCaster and BATS, Planetcast is evolving beyond standalone products into a unified, end-to-end operating framework that brings together content management, playout, distribution and monetization to help media companies operate more flexibly and efficiently.

Product Updates at NAB Show 2026

At NAB Show 2026, Planetcast will highlight product updates across its portfolio, with a focus on greater flexibility, tighter integration and more efficient workflows spanning playout, IP distribution, content management, OTT delivery and monetization. Together, these updates reflect Planetcast’s continued investment in helping broadcasters and content owners operate more efficiently across live, linear and streaming environments.

ReCaster, Planetcast’s IP-based signal transport platform, now supports hybrid deployment models with SRT, RIST and UDP protocols, enabling broadcasters to deliver high-quality live content with ~2500ms latency across distributed environments. The platform supports both SPTS and MPTS workflows, as well as mixed-mode operations, providing the flexibility needed for large-scale, multi-destination distribution. Today, ReCaster is deployed by over 50 customers across global markets including Asia, the Middle East and the Caribbean.

Real-World Transformation: beIN SPORTS

beIN SPORTS Asia Pacific is using CloudX and ReCaster to support dynamic live sports workflows at scale across APAC, demonstrating Planetcast’s ability to manage complex, high-volume sports operations through flexible, IP-based infrastructure.

Key highlights include:

  • 40+ simultaneous live sports events supported during peak periods
  • 18 linear and 24 OTT channels managed across 12 APAC markets
  • 99% uptime maintained across playout and delivery

Meeting Industry Challenges at NAB Show 2026

Planetcast’s latest innovations come at a critical time for the media industry, as broadcasters face fragmented audiences across linear, streaming and social platforms, rising content and sports rights costs, increasing complexity in multi-platform distribution and continued reliance on legacy infrastructure.

At Booth #W3028, Planetcast will showcase end-to-end workflow demonstrations that highlight how its integrated platform helps media companies operate with greater agility, launch channels faster and deliver content more efficiently across broadcast and streaming environments.
