Interactive “Ask Me Anything” sessions will connect broadcasters and technology providers with the experts developing a practical, interoperable roadmap for software-defined media infrastructure
AMSTERDAM — Aug. 27, 2026 — The Joint Task Force on the Dynamic Media Facility (JT-DMF), an initiative of the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), will host a series of informal “Ask Me Anything” sessions during IBC 2026 at the AMWA area on the EBU stand (10.D21).
The sessions will give broadcasters, manufacturers, systems integrators, and technology partners direct access to the experts working to turn the Dynamic Media Facility (DMF) vision into a practical industry roadmap.

Located at the JT-DMF discussion area on the EBU stand, visitors will also be able to explore adjacent demonstrations illustrating the latest work on DMF and Media eXchange Layer (MXL), providing additional insights into the technologies and architectural concepts that are moving the industry forward.
Bringing together a balanced mix of perspectives, JT-DMF working groups include broadcasters, manufacturers, systems integrators, and technology experts, ensuring that the work reflects real operational requirements while remaining practical and interoperable.
“The beauty of the collaboration between the AMWA and the EBU is that we have a joint task force between the user community and the people who really build products for the market,” said Willem Vermost, senior media technology architect at the EBU.
“I think we all recognize the evolution of broadcast facilities will move toward DMF,” said Mike Strein, co-chair of the JT-DMF Business Track and retired director of engineering and technology at Disney-ABC. “ST 2110 provided transport efficiency, and that was our step from SDI, and now, we can take advantage of compute efficiency. To have an agile environment is probably every broadcaster’s dream.”
“As media organizations face increasing pressure to do more with fewer resources, JT-DMF brings together key stakeholders in our industry including broadcasters, vendors, and systems integrators in order to address these challenges,” said Brad Gilmer, executive director of AMWA. “The AMA sessions at IBC allow attendees to talk directly with the people who are responsible for guiding the discussions in the JT-DMF. These people are taking concrete steps now to make the vision of Dynamic Media Facilities a reality. They are shaping the next generation of infrastructure. And they are continually asking, how can the industry align on a common, interoperable approach?”
