LTN surpasses 3,000 satellite-to-IP migrations as FCC vote signals next phase of C-Band evolution

Proven managed IP solution helps broadcasters confidently navigate the future of broadcast distribution

LTN announces it has completed successful satellite-to-IP migrations covering over 3,000 broadcaster, MVPD (Multi Channel Video Programming Distributor), head-end and content owner sites. The milestone comes as today’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) vote approving rules for the auction of Upper C-Band spectrum marks the next phase of the U.S. broadcast industry’s transition.

While many broadcasters have already embraced IP distribution, others are now considering how the FCC’s decision and the future reduction in U.S. C-Band capacity will shape their long-term distribution strategy. Every broadcaster’s journey will be different. Whether organisations choose to migrate fully to IP, adopt a hybrid approach or evolve over time, LTN’s focus is on giving customers the flexibility, expertise and proven technology to move forward with confidence while maintaining the reliability and reach their audiences expect.

“Every broadcaster’s needs are different, and no two migration journeys are the same,” said Malik Khan, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, LTN. “Our role is to understand each customer’s priorities and help them build the right path to IP. Thousands of successful migrations have given us the practical experience that helps reduce risk, simplify deployment and support customers at every stage. Broadcasters don’t have to wait for possible future distribution models to mature. They can move forward today with a solid, cost-effective IP solution that delivers the flexibility, reliability, and long-term certainty they need.”

LTN has already partnered with leading broadcasters, content owners and MVPDs, including MASN, MSG Networks, PBS, Scripps, TelevisaUnivision and Tennis Channel to successfully transition mission-critical distribution workflows from satellite to IP. Recent deployments for PBS demonstrate that managed IP distribution can reliably reach 330 stations including rural communities, and provision ISP connectivity  in small-markets and hard to reach geographic areas including Alaska, US Virgin Islands, Guam and Puerto Rico.

Beyond full-time linear distribution, LTN also supports demanding occasional use workflows that include professional and major college sports and live programming. Its recent partnership with Fox Television and XR (Extreme Reach) delivered live syndicated broadcasts for 25 Words or Less LIVE, demonstrating again how managed IP can rapidly support high-profile live productions.

Broadcasters moving to LTN benefit from higher bandwidth, improved signal quality and cost savings of 40–60% compared with satellite. They also gain the flexibility to deliver content across both broadcast and digital platforms from the same network, helping modernise operations while maintaining the reliability audiences expect.

As the industry enters the next phase of broadcast distribution, LTN’s managed IP network combines practical migration experience with an industry-leading SLA of 99.9999% reliability and less than 200ms predictable global latency.
